’twas a quick first ride on the flat bar Fargo. Met Wil. Enjoyed a coffee. Was showing the way through the local trails when I endo’d and my face met this rock. Lost my facial hair in the process. Trying to avoid the ER. Headache. Feel like I’m 12.

Ouch! I hope you heal quickly. It could happen to any of us … mountain biking especially, it’s pretty much a given that you’re going to crash at some point.
Yeah, it’s a given. Last serious wreck was in 04 and I ended up solo, miles from home, in need of stitches. Just above the knee. Rode home and then got a lift to the ER. Was off the MTB for about 4 years after that one.
But, this is more mental. Blow and gash to the face. Still feel it!
Bummer! The beard adds some warmth, too, in the cold winters! Glad you’re okay, though
i’ve already share my sympathy with Mike so I’m free to speak out.
Does he not look like Cadel Evans?
Wil,
Thanks for getting me home. Would love to have 1/2 the legs and lungs of Mr. Evans.
Ouch man…There are some tricky sections in there; I have ‘stepped off’ my bike numerous times but sorry to hear about your chin rock. Heal up!
you and me both Mike. It is tricky in there. Wet and slimey didn’t help matters.
Have you noticed the trick photography that you have going on? Before and after show the injury on two different sides of your chin.

Yikes! I’ve been keeping an eye on the rocks when I’ve been out MTBing lest one sneak up on me and inflict some carnage!
