I met this tree just before I moved from the Finger Lakes region of New York to Vermont. (cross posted to my work website)

This has made the round of the webs before – it is one of my favorite commercials that will never make it to the tele. (not that I could watch it anyway…)

If only patriotism looked like this. Errol Morris has done quite a bit of nice work.

I smelled summer on my evening ride. Highs in the 70s during the day and that sweet smell of summer as evening cooled the air. We’ve a long way to go before summer is in full swing – but today we got a taste. I rode out to Shelburne and back on an easy ride exploring some backroads by the bay and returned after dark.

Winter’s arrival forced us to cancel our culinary Valentine’s Day plans at the Inn at Essex. Instead we enjoyed a home made meal – and stayed toasty warm and out of the blowing and drifting snow. An attempt was made to get out last night – but our road wasn’t plowed until this morning. I threw in the shovel and snapped the picture above about 5pm last night. We received another 6-8″ overnight – and the snow packed in so tight around the car it left Subaru prints!
