That stuff on the seat post/mast, is that an aero device to smooth out da flow?
twas his bike number / bib – which in most cases goes on the TT…
the cervelo TT guys place it on the seat tube.
was a very cool rig.
STI levers look huge on a BF.
congrats to Jen on a successful Tri! Sounds like the Salsa is a winner for her.
He definitely has a bit of saddle – bar drop. If I were a traveling sales etc…I would have one. Or a Brompton.
Maybe this rider’s onto something. Smaller wheels = more aero, no?
@jim – i want one… should have done that when i built up the IF… was traveling quite a bit during that time in my life and i would have had the chance to ride in SLC / Park City / Canyons quite a bit – as well as PDX, San Fran, Kansas, Colorado… I never felt up to jamming the IF into a box and shipping or letting the airlines mess with it. brompton is a pretty heavy machine. great for trains / cars – but i don’t think i’d want to do long distance on it. rented one in PDX instead of a car last time out – liked it enough for city riding… not very adjustable, and heavy.
@ patrick – thanks much. she did really well – finished in under her goal time. salsa is a winner – she’s comfortable – and she uses her bike for transportation as well as her events. she was the only bike in the transition with fenders on (and a bell) – she did want to ring it when she passed some tri-specific bikes. if she gets competitive (which she could, with some focused training and a growing toddler) i’ll have to convince her to get a go faster bike.
@bcb – true, they should be more aero – esp. as he has a low spoke wheel. he did pretty well if i remember – definitely first half or third of the mens pack as we watched the first leg of the bikes go by. not sure how he placed. i’d love to have one for rando…
Easy to pack in the car!

When I put Brompton in there, I’m sure I meant Moulton.
