Sunrise with Ava

Ava and I got up early, snagged some hot chocolate and coffee, and watched and photographed the sunrise from Shelburne Farms.

My favorite shot of the morning was just as the sun peaked out from behind Camel’s Hump.

I love these micro adventures with the girls. Scheming and planning for more.

I bracketed most of my shots – so I tried out the Merge>HDR feature in Lightroom.

Photo Walk

The girls got a lesson on my camera last week and I dusted off my old Canon G12 for them to use. Yesterday before school Ava and I scheduled time to explore town and a park on the way to school. I loved watching her look at the world, and teaching her about how cameras (and our eyes) process images.

Daddy Daughter Camping

Quick overnight with the girls. Dinner in Middlebury, then up the mountain to Silver Lake NF campground. Walk in at dusk, setup camp, snack, sleep.

In the morning we ate some snacks (I needed coffee) and then explored around the campground and the dam, then hiked out. The girls carried their bags in ~3/4 mile. Lina wasn’t interested in carrying out on the second day, so dad carried her bag up the trail. We had proper, second breakfast in Middlebury, before heading home.

Good fun, and we have another trip planned before it gets too cold.

Exploring

Enjoying the last weekend before school starts. Exploring Northshore Beach in BTV with the girls.

We wandered the beach the the girls moved into 2 of the driftwood shelters people have made on the beach. Temps were perfect, the water cool on the toes, and the girls a delight to explore with.

Recent Snaps

Mellow weekend. Farmer’s Market, morning rides, flowers in bloom, some industrious kids up in the woods, flood damage, more rain, gray skies, good fun.
