Cold Sunrise

Sunrise over the Winooski River from the Long Trail suspension bridge this morning. Took a few snaps while I was setting up for the panorama as the sun started to make its way over the ridge.

The Suspension Bridge

Cold cold morning at the Long Trail suspension bridge. I had envisioned a much different set of images – but the cold and the bumbling photographer left with what he could get. Comical, to watch, I’m sure. -8dF in the car before I walked to the bridge. The windchill over the frozen river, in the valley before sunrise was painful. Fingers didn’t work, backpack straps got tangled, tripod nearly got tipped, glasses froze over with exhalation condensation.

Thatch

Snaps from a job site – timber frame roof system I designed covered in thatch.

Eagle

I snuck down to the shore of Lake Champlain at Shelburne Farms last week after I dropped the kids off at school to check out some dramatic clouds and the fog / steam rising into the cold cold air from the warm lake water. This lovely creature made a few passes and I was able to get a few images captured before he took off down the lake.
