I’ve been continuing to play with long exposures on the Burlington, VT waterfront. Amazed, always at the changes in light and atmosphere over Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks.

Bolton Potholes, Ice
A quick stop at the Bolton Potholes, and an afternoon of fail. I took a series of images from the lower falls, standing in the freezing mist, on the icy rocks (wearing micro spikes) – and I missed focus – I didn’t see it until I was assembling the images at home. This image is from above the falls – and the only consolation for the day.

The Pleiades and Comet 46P/Wirtanen
A misty. icy, cold night – I set out to create a night sky panorama from Orion to the Pleiades – planning to catch comet 46P/Wirtanen in the process. That changed when clouds moved in – so I focused on capturing a set of images to stack for the Pleiades and 46P. Not the cleanest image, nor the most detailed, but enough to inspire me to try again.
