Sunday Dirt

Lovely ~30 miles with Greg exploring the pavement and dirt near Montpelier. This was the first ride on the IF in a long long long time, and I felt good, despite not riding much this summer.

We pedaled pavement out of Montpelier, made a stop at Maple Corners store, then explored dirt.

We eventually were swamped out, so we turned around and backtracked.

And stopped to enjoy the pond on the way back to pavement.

Dad’s Tools

Spent a bit of time back at ‘home’ in Cleveland with mom after she had a knee replacement. I brought back a few tools that I had in storage there, and spent time reminiscing about my dad, while picking through the garage.

So many memories embedded in his tools – from learning to use a pocket knife, to getting a stern talking to after using the drill press and band saw when he wasn’t supervising (at age 10), to welding, remodeling, plumbing, electric, and all the rest.

Mt. Hunger

A lovely, muddy, mixed terrain lollipop hike up Mt. Hunger and then over to White Rocks. ~6 miles, 2000′ of up.

Blue skies warm temps,

Contrast with the last time I was here with Greg:

Shelburne Farms

After school walk during the last week of school for the girls at Shelburne Farms. I never tire of the buildings and views from the Farm Barn:
