I had the opportunity to go up into the clock room some years ago. It was a real treat to see the working mechanism and to go to a spot normally off-limits.
I have been up there as well. Pretty cool device (still needs calibrating and runs on weights!) and a really cool view. The guide also had me explain parts of the timber frame when I geeked out about many of the match / makers marks in the frame.
